Bandai Namco and Oasys Unleash AI-Powered Virtual Pet NFT Game RYUZO

Bandai Namco has joined hands with Oasys to launch an innovative AI-powered virtual pet game. This new venture, named RYUZO, revolves around NFT-based digital creatures called RYU.

Developed in collaboration with Japanese startup Attructure and published by Double Jump.Tokyo, RYUZO was released on Wednesday. Prior to the launch, 10,000 digital NFT eggs, known as MARYU, were airdropped to holders of Oasys’ first series of NFTs. These eggs will hatch into RYU, transforming into soulbound tokens that are locked to the original wallet, making them non-transferable.

The game draws inspiration from the classic Tamagotchi virtual pet game. This allows the RYU to develop personalities and unlock abilities based on user interaction. They can be fed, raced, and nurtured. Thanks to AI, the creatures can learn new capabilities, offering a more advanced virtual pet experience.

Players can also create further generations of MARYU within the application. The nurturing phase is scheduled to last for a year, with the creatures remaining active beyond that. Oasys has also announced collaborations with other notable game projects and further NFT releases, starting with a crossover event with blockchain game Brave Frontier Heroes.
