Creators of ‘Untitled Goose Game’ Announce Fresh Collaboration with Panic!

Melbourne-based studio House House, the creative minds behind the viral hit “Untitled Goose Game,” revealed a new partnership with game publisher Panic Inc. The collaboration was unveiled during the Panic Games Showcase 2023, where House House promised a project that is “totally different” from their previous work.

The House House team appeared in a video message set against an Australian bush backdrop. They expressed their excitement about working with Panic again and teased that the upcoming game will be a fresh experience, diverging significantly from the “Untitled Goose Game” concept. While the project is still unnamed, the team assured fans it would be a unique offering, sparking curiosity and anticipation.

Panic Inc. reciprocated the enthusiasm, stating that the new venture would be “not what you would expect from the team.” The publisher has a history of supporting innovative indie games, and this new partnership with House House is expected to be another feather in their cap. Although details are scant at the moment, the gaming world is eagerly awaiting more information on this intriguing collaboration.

AEW All In Breaks Records and Introduces New Mobile Game

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) made a splash in the mobile gaming world during its landmark UK event, AEW All In, which drew a record-breaking crowd of over 80,000 spectators. The wrestling extravaganza, featuring stars like Maxwell Jacob Friedman, CM Punk, and Kenny Omega, took a moment to spotlight AEW’s new mobile game, “AEW: Rise to the Top.”

During the pre-show, wrestler Saraya, who later clinched the AEW Women’s Championship, introduced the new mobile game to an audience of tens of thousands. Developed in collaboration with Canadian developer East Side Games and Game Masons, the game was launched into beta the same day it was featured at the AEW show.

Mark Caplan, Vice President of Licensing and Games for AEW, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the mobile gaming venture. He stated that the game aims to bridge the gap between AEW’s TV and PPV broadcasts and the interactive games space. This move is part of AEW’s broader strategy to expand its multimedia brand, challenging the dominant WWE brand in the wrestling ring and the mobile gaming arena.

The Case of the Golden Idol Unveils Free Web Version and Final DLC

The Case of the Golden Idol has rolled out a free web-based version alongside a brand-new DLC, “Golden Idol Mysteries: The Lemurian Vampire.” Developed by Color Gray Games, the free web version is a trial, offering players the first three cases to solve.

The announcement coincides with the surprise release of the game’s second and seemingly final expansion, “Golden Idol Mysteries: The Lemurian Vampire.” This DLC adds three more mysteries to the game as a sequel to the first DLC expansion, “The Spider of Lanka.” Both DLCs act as prequels to the main game, exploring the origins of the enigmatic golden idol.

The game won the 2023 Independent Games Festival Award for Excellence in Design and was nominated for a BAFTA, has been lauded for its self-directed gameplay and eerie atmosphere. It draws inspiration from “The Return of the Obra Dinn” by Lucas Pope and has been described as a must-play experience.

Dreamate Games Announces New Arc Line, A Steampunk CRPG

The gaming world is buzzing with the announcement of “New Arc Line,” a steampunk fantasy CRPG that’s drawing comparisons to the iconic “BioShock Infinite.” Developed by Czech-Ukrainian indie studio Dreamate Games, “New Arc Line” is slated for a 2024 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The announcement trailer showcases the game’s visually striking setting, the fantastical city of New Arc. The aesthetic, reminiscent of BioShock Infinite’s floating city of Columbia, intrigues fans. The trailer also hints at similar narrative themes, such as the idea of tyranny and dysfunction masked by a facade of progress and exceptionalism.

While the trailer offers only a glimpse of a masked, hooded character who may be the game’s antagonist, it’s enough to get fans excited about what’s to come.

Paleo Pines to Launch on Multiple Platforms, Promising a Fresh Take on Farming Simulators

If you’ve ever wondered what “Stardew Valley” would be like with dinosaurs, look no further. “Paleo Pines,” a new simulation game, is set to bring the cozy farming experience to a whole new level by adding a prehistoric twist. Developed by Modus Games, the game is scheduled for release on September 26 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

The game’s trailer reveals many activities players can engage in, from taming dinosaurs to growing crops and customizing farmhouses. The game features different biomes, including grassy and rocky terrains and hidden secrets, much like its inspiration, “Stardew Valley.” Players can expect to interact with various NPCs and even tame dinosaurs that assist in daily farm activities.

The game offers a unique blend of the familiar and the fantastical, aiming to cater to farming sim enthusiasts and dinosaur lovers. With six species of dinosaurs, three of which are ridable, “Paleo Pines” promises a rich and diverse gameplay experience. The game also hints at the unique abilities of these dinosaurs, adding another layer of complexity and excitement to the farming sim genre.
