Gala Games Unveils A Web3 MMORPG, Mirandus

Gala Games is set to release Mirandus, an upcoming MMORPG that combines elements from Minecraft and World of Warcraft in a medieval fantasy setting. The game offers a first-person perspective and minimalist visual aesthetic, creating a unique gaming experience.

Players can expect encounters with challenging creatures like goblins and wolves, adding an element of danger and strategy to the game. Unlike traditional MMORPGs that rely on text chat, Mirandus aims to provide immersive gameplay through dynamic audio and in-game communication.

However, the game’s success relies heavily on attracting a sizable player base, as Mirandus does not feature non-playable characters (NPCs) to populate its world. Players will rely on encounters with monsters and animals to survive, collect resources and craft items.

Mirandus offers a wide range of NFTs to incorporate crypto elements with almost every aspect of the game. Gala Games provides NFTs for playable characters, horse mounts, buildings, boats, and more. The OpenSea marketplace already lists over 196,000 different Mirandus NFTs, with prices ranging from under $10 to $150-200 per character.

Line Next Reveals First Wave of NFT Games for Game Dosi Platform

Line Next, a subsidiary of popular Asian social app Line, is gearing up for a major Web3 gaming venture with its Game Dosi platform. The company recently unveiled a sneak peek of the first five NFT-based games slated for release in the second half of 2023.

The lineup of Web3 games includes Sweet Monster Guardians, Vestria the Last Order (VLO), KEROZ, Drawship Kingdom Reverse, and Project GD. Each game offers distinctive gameplay mechanics, catering to various preferences.

  • Sweet Monster Guardians, the first title to introduce NFT pre-sales, is a browser-based strategic defense game developed by Movisoft, emphasizing the strategic placement of unique characters.
  • Vestria the Last Order invites players on a collective role-playing adventure, exuding a Final Fantasy-style vibe and allowing users to embark on quests together.
  • Fans of dungeon-crawling “roguelike” experiences can anticipate KEROZ, an action-adventure game available on mobile and PC, crafted by Superflex.
  • Drawship Kingdom Reverse allows gamers to earn NFT rewards through avatars, machines, and dolls.
  • While Project GD remains shrouded in mystery, the Game Dosi website hints at a fantasy IP that will materialize as a competitive trading card game (TCG) featuring NFT-based decks of cards.

Game Dosi is set to officially launch on May 18, accompanied by a membership sale offering gold and platinum-tier NFT passes. These passes grant exclusive benefits, including early access to the new games. Embracing the “Gamer First, Web3 Next philosophy,” Game Dosi will also provide NFT rewards through its upcoming Project GD game.

Game Dosi operates on the Finschia blockchain, formerly known as Line Blockchain and Link Chain, with the native cryptocurrency LINK.

Indie Game Developer Introduces Blights Wrath, An RPG on XRP Blockchain

Equilibrium Games, an indie game developer and publisher, has unveiled Blights Wrath, a PC action role-playing game (RPG) that draws inspiration from popular titles like Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Diablo 2.

The game recently entered its free-to-play open beta stage, allowing players to experience the world of Blights Wrath. While the beta version still has its fair share of bugs and glitches, it offers glimpses of exciting gameplay moments.

Blights Wrath will maintain its free-to-play model upon official release but will feature optional cosmetic NFTs on the XRP blockchain, which also powers Ripple’s payments service. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to earn Equilibrium’s EQ token by completing daily quests.

Equilibrium’s flagship product, World of Equilibrium, a hardcore massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), is already in progress and aims to deliver an enhanced gaming experience.

Polygon Emerges as Leader in GameFi, Surpassing Solana and BNB

According to a report by Delphi Digital, Polygon has taken a significant lead in the GameFi sector, surpassing competitors Solana and Binance Smart Chain (BNB). Polygon captured 34.93% of the overall GameFi market, while Solana and BNB accounted for 26.80% and 17.90%, respectively.

Polygon’s dominance in GameFi can be attributed to gaming dApps like Planet IX and The Sandbox. Both protocols experienced a surge in active wallets, increasing transactions and volume. However, the volume of NFT trades on these platforms declined despite the high activity.

In addition to GameFi, Polygon has showcased its strength in the DeFi markets. It outperformed most protocols in terms of total value locked (TVL), second only to Ethereum. The popularity of Polygon’s decentralized exchanges (DEXes) contributed to its dominance in DeFi.

Despite its successes, the price of Polygon’s native token, MATIC, saw little growth, declining from $0.93 to $0.88 over the past week. MATIC’s volume and transaction count also fell during the same period.

In addition to its current game offerings, Zone plans to introduce new games under its play-to-earn model in the second quarter of 2023. This expansion will include popular titles like Ludo, Chess, Solitaire, and more, providing gamers an even broader range of options to earn rewards.
