Openfort Raises $3M Seed Funding to Simplify Crypto Transactions for Game Developers
Openfort, a crypto infrastructure startup, has successfully raised $3 million in seed funding for its “wallet-as-a-service” software for game developers and publishers. The wallet will support the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). This makes it compatible with various Ethereum-based networks such as Polygon, Immutable, Avalanche, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Optimism, Cronos, and Ethereum itself.
Openfort aims to provide game studios a seamless wallet experience by offering multiple APIs compatible with various game platforms. This includes browser games, PC games developed in Unity and Unreal Engine 5, and even mobile games.
One notable feature being developed by Openfort is the concept of game sessions or session keys. Users can reduce their interactions with the blockchain by implementing sessions, similar to how internet cookies remember user activity.
Openfort’s approach to “account abstraction,” which enables smart contracts to initiate transactions without user approval, has garnered particular interest from investors. This simplifies and enhances the gaming experience. Account abstraction is a vital technology in dApps as it automates less important transactions in the background.
Axie Infinity Introduces Axie Avatar Forge, Allowing Customizable PFP Avatars
Axie Infinity has introduced a new feature called Axie Avatar Forge. This allows players to create personalized and customizable PFP (Profile Picture) avatars.
With Axie Avatar Forge, users now have a wide range of options to diversify their profiles. They can choose from a selection of 20 backdrop colors. This includes translucent options, to match their axies with their personal or business identities in the digital and physical realms. Also, users can zoom in to focus on their axie’s face or zoom out to display their entire body, giving them greater control over their digital identity.
The Avatar Forge also enables users to construct animated scenarios using its elements or freeze an Axie in action, like during a backflip. Additionally, users have the ability to toggle Axie accessories on or off, providing further customization possibilities.
